Professor Hyacinth E. Ichoku,

Health and Development Economist

A Professor of Economics with the Department of Economics, and Director Institute of Maritime Studies, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Hye has had intensive and diverse range of experience in the last 17 years teaching, researching, publishing, and consulting on public finance and health sector specific financing issues in Nigeria as evidenced in the details below. He is an expert in applied development microeconomics and health economics; areas in which he focused on during his masters and PhD degrees from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. He has taught and published widely in top international journals in the field of health economics and development microeconomics. He has also won several research grants from national and international organizations including the Poverty and Policy Research Network, Supported by IDRC Canada, Nigerian Communication Commission, African Economic Research Consortium, World Health Organization – Geneva, WHO-AFRO – Brazaville, National Research Foundation – South Africa, among others. His academic training has had interface with intensive consulting experience with several international organizations including the World Bank, USAID, DFID, EU, WHO-AFRO, IDRC, Results for Development (USA), among others.


Alfred Okugbeni,

MD, Equipment Solutions and Logistics Services Limited

Alfred holds a B.Sc. Degree in Economics, Second Class Upper Division from the University of Benin, Benin City, Edo State in Nigeria. He is an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). Alfred joined Fidelity Union Merchant Bank Limited (FUMBL) now Fidelity Bank PLC in 1998 after the mandatory National Youth Service and rose within a period of seven years to the position of a Deputy Manager and Group Head, Non-Bank Financial Institutions. He has over 10 years’ experience in bank and non-bank financing. He is also the Managing Director / Chief Executive of Equipment Solutions and Logistics Services Limited and Intelligent Data Limited. He is the Publisher of Haulage & Logistics Magazine. He is a member of Logistics Society of Nigeria, Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (USA), and Equipment Leasing Association of Nigeria (ELAN). Other roles include: Convener of the Haulage & Logistics Magazine Annual Conference and Exhibition (HAULMACE); Key Resource Person to the Financial Institution Training Centre, Lagos; Key Resource Person to Lagos Business School Seminal on Supply Chain Management; Director of the Equipment Leasing Association of Nigeria
